Reuters Oct. 20:A German judge said on Monday statements from Ramzi bin al-Shaibah, a suspected September 11 conspirator, could not be used in the trial of a Moroccan accused of helping the suicide hijackers.
A Hamburg court had requested the confidential documents for use in the trial of Abdelghani Mzoudi, an electrical engineering student from Morocco, charged with 3,066 counts of aiding and abetting murder, and membership of a terrorist organisation.
Judge Klaus Ruehle said the German Interior Ministry had declined to make available to the court a copy of statements that bin al-Shaibah, who is in U.S. custody, has made to American authorities. . . .
Bin al-Shaibah . . . has been held by the United States since his arrest in Pakistan in September 2002.
It is the second trial in Germany involving. . . about the Hamburg al Qaeda cell. . . .
