The Web Fairy pulled together this ABC video, of what *appears* to be a large aluminum airliner silently disappearing - melting rather than crashing - into the steel-framed World Trade Center tower, along with a write-up from New York Times 2001 11 22 :

Mr. Fairbanks has made a Zapruder film for our time. . . .

Over the head of the F.B.I. agent, who clearly does not see what is happening, a plane silently penetrates the other World Trade Center tower. . . .

"It looked like a cheap miniature model from some cheap film", he said, "It was a non-event because it didn’t fall down on my head."

"You just couldn’t connect", he said, "That what was happening had any relation to you."

The video aired during late-night coverage on 2001 09 11. Here is amateur cameraman Fairbanks' key observation:

FAIRBANKS: The image of that plane, just coming out of nowhere, coming into the frame and disappearing into the side, into the south side of the tower as if a floor had been hollowed out and it was a hanger that it was just landing in. We've seen these images in movies, and we know that it's all artificial, and Hollywood makes it. And it's hard to put together that it's real this time.
