The Official version is that this is NOT Smith, Sturgis, and Hunt, but rather, three guys who only LOOKED exactly like them. The insets were all taken in the 70's. A new scientific technology that is being used in the fight against terrorism has now provided the strongest evidence ever that these weren't three ordinary "tramps".

 The photos [to the right] show the process we used to make a scientific photo identification of the three tramps photographed in Dealey Plaza shortly after President Kennedy was killed.
Look at the overlays - they are all EXACT matches. This is scientific proof (using the US Government's OWN technology) that the CIA was involved in the murder of JFK.

NOTE: Only in 1974 were the photos of the 3 "tramps" released. Before then they were in the possession of persons in the Democratic Party. Nobody has ever asked what Hunt & Sturgis were looking for in the Watergate burglary, because the answer was too embarrassing for BOTH parties.
I believe they were looking for the photos of themselves in Dallas, Nov 22, 1963. A Nixon informant in the Washington DC Democratic headquarters discovered the existence of the photos, along with Democratic plans to use them to discredit Nixon's henchmen. Hunt and Sturgis were covering their OWN asses in the burglary.
The article applies facial biometrics to some other questions surrounding the JFK assassination as well: Was that Oswald watching the motorcade from the ground floor? Could JFK's body been switched with that of Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippett -- did they resemble each other enough?
