BradBlog.com has archived an interesting video of Congressman Curt Weldon (R-Penn.) concerning the Able Danger "cover-up." Able Danger was a team inside the Defense Intelligence Agency who were trailing 9/11 patsy, "hijacker" Mohammed Atta. The points Weldon made in the interview with CNN's Lou Dobss were:
- 9/11 Commissioner Slade Gorton, who has dismissed the signifigance of ABle Danger, has never talked to any principals involved in the matter.
- Former FBI Director Louis Freeh has been calling attention to the Able Danger situation.
- Able Danger's work was briefed to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in January 2001. Weldon: "How could you call that insignicant? Lou, this is a cover-up.
- "There were people within the Pentagon who stayed in place from the 1999-2000 period into 2001 in fact, they are still there today. They have a vested interest in the story not being told."
- The american people will see the government failed them.
- The Department of Defense's Inspector General has just started an investigation of the DIA.
- Weldon has asked the General Accounting Office to investigated Able Danger.
- A staffer named Deiter Snell who worked for 9/11 Commissioner (and ex -linton DOJ official) Jamie Gorelick, debriefed Able Danger's Col. Philpott and kept the informaiton from the Commission.
