"Attorneys close to the CIA leak investigation reasserted late Thursday that Hadley approached Fitzgerald after Libby’s indictment and alerted him to the June 2003 conversation he had with Woodward, and that he subsequently told Woodward he could testify.

When pressed further, the sources told RAW STORY there is a record at the National Security Council of Hadley’s meeting with Woodward.

It's rather apparent what's going on here. Rather than admitting that Cheney directed Libby to somehow blow the cover of Valerie Plame and the Brewster-Jennings network inside the CIA, Libby made up a story about hearing of Plame from Tim Russert and "accidentally" passing the information along. Now that Libby has been called on that line of transparent BS, the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) is attempting to construct a storyline wherein Libby "accidentally" heard of Plame from Woodward (who "accidentally" heard of Plame from Hadley). Libby then went on to "accidentally" leak Plame's name to others and "accidentally" confuse Woodward and Russert when testifying before the grand jury.

Hadley contacted Woodward to get this new storyline going, and WHIG shills on FoxNews and elsewhere are now dutifully reporting it.

This type of transparently corrupt power-brownnosing by Woodward is why serious people are suspicious of his behavior in the Watergate operation and doubt his claims that the now-demented Mark Felt was "Deep Throat." Now a prominent shill for the Baby Bush Administration, it's much more likely Woodward was shilling for the likes of Poppy Bush (the real "Deep Throat"?) during the Watergate operation rather than working in the public interest.
