"It's not a plane taking off from National. By 9:08 all air traffic out of National Airport was stopped. This thing is flying west, away from the airport. It is not the C-130 that was following Flight 77 because the C-130 was still on the runway at Andrews AFB at 9:30. It still remains possible, however, that this thing is actually Flight 77 heading west before its final spiral descent.
This Doubletree video is 8 hours long. No other flying objects appear on the video at any time, which is significant considering the known swarm of helicopters landing and taking off from the Pentagon lawn following the impact. At the the distance to crash site, even the large Red Cross helicopters were too small for the security camera to pick up.
If this is a helicopter, it must be very close to the Doubletree Hotel - probably over I-395, rather than the Pentagon parking lot even - else we'd expect to see a glimpse or two of the other helicopters during the day.
Given this video and the supporting witness statements, it should become part of the record that at least one helicopter was on the scene prior to the attack.
