From Eau Claire Leader-Telegram Jan. 20 2007: "[...] Over the course of his two-hour presentation, [Dr. Kevin] Barrett proved to be a funny and engaging speaker, telling short quips that had the packed hall chuckling. He launched into a variety of conspiracy theories, from the assassination of President Kennedy, to the bombing at Pearl Harbor, to the United States getting involved in World War I.
Barrett believes that bombs set off in the World Trade Center caused the collapse, and not the airplanes that struck the buildings.
'I hope you at least are willing to look at the evidence,' Barrett said. 'There's never been a collapse like this (building), ever. They came down at freefall speed, of about 10 seconds. They fell into their own footprint and left virtually no rubble. The laws of physics show us it's a controlled demolition.'
Barrett contends the buildings should have tipped over and caused major damage to lower Manhattan. He also contends that the buildings recently were sold before the bombing, that the new owner had a hefty insurance claim, and that the buildings were filled with asbestos that would be costly to remove.
Barrett also described the men who reportedly flew the planes into the buildings as party animals who drank alcohol, used drugs and visited strip clubs.
'They were patsies — people set up to take the fall,' he said.
